Corporate Veterinary: Improving Animal Care, or Prioritizing Profits?

Our speakers today will be the Rockwall Ag Issues Team on behalf of the Rockwall FFA. This year's team is made up of 5 students, 4 of which are returning members. Cole Sawyer is their Agriculture Science Teacher at Dr. Gene Burton College and Career Academy. They research a controversial issue affecting our community and the broader agricultural community and presents their findings to local community groups and lawmakers. In addition to the Rotary Club, the team will be presenting to a group of local veterinarians and the Texas Veterinary Medical Association in Austin. The goal of this competition is to improve the research and public speaking skills of our members as well as to engage the public about the issues facing American Agriculture. The team greatly benefit from the opportunity to present and welcomes questions from the audience at the end of the presentation. They are appreciative of the opportunity to present to us. Join us for one of our biggest events of the year, powered by Rockwall Breakfast Rotary Club. Great chili. Great community. A great cause. This is a fundraiser for Rainbow Room. Rainbow Room of Rockwall County gives essential items right away to local children who have faced abuse or neglect and need Child Protective Services. When a child enters care with few or no belongings, the Rainbow Room steps in with clothing, baby supplies, hygiene products, comfort items, and other basics. They also support efforts to improve living conditions in the home, helping families address immediate needs so children can remain safely with their families whenever possible.
The event is held at Divine Peace Church, Rockwall.
