Our Rockwall High Interact had their first meetings on August 24!
The first meetings of the Interact Club of Rockwall High were held on Monday, August 24. They have a before-school meeting at 8:15 am and an after-school meeting at 4:15 pm to accommodate all interested students and their class schedules. Between the two meetings, there were about 60 students who attended. Some were returning students, some were new, and some just came to see what this Interact thing is. There was a lot of enthusiasm in both meetings. And they are off and running. They are having a Carter Blood Drive on September 4. They will be having 2 more blood drives during the school year. Watch for information on how we as Rotarians can support them in this effort. Because they hosted 3 blood drives last year, Carter Blood Care presented them with a check for $500 that they can put to good use in their club. They will also be going to Feed My Starving Children during their fall break in October. They have planned for a different service project each month of the school year. Our club members will be able to participate in many of their projects/events as they occur. Be on the lookout for future notifications from our students! Gerald Hendrik, our Youth Services Coordinator, will keep us informed and let us know how we can help them.
