For several years our club has joined with many other charities and churches to provide school supplies, shoes and other items for the children of our community.
Shoes 4 Kids is always so much fun. Each charity involved has a spot they serve. The Rockwall Rotary Club was able to assist with the check out area again this year. The chair for this service project, Mike Conway said, “It was a great day…we delivered 1801 pairs of shoes this year. In 2024 we did 1739 pairs.”
What a wonderful blessing to so many kids. They walked away with new everything…backpacks, school supplies, sock, shoes, and many other fun items.
The best part is that it is like a store and the kids get to pick out and try on the shoes they like. So rewarding for us to see the satisfaction on ALL THOSE FACES.
One fun observation: “It was heart warming to see so many children come through with their new pair of shoes all excited to have an opportunity to wear them. One little girl was over the moon, she wore them out of the building. It is an amazing organization and I was honored to be a part of making a child smile today.”
Can’t wait until next year so we can do it again.
